November 14, 2025

The new West Lincoln Memorial Hospital (WLMH) in Grimsby, Ontario, officially opened its doors for patient care on November 24, 2025. A grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony took place prior to this on November 14, 2025, with government officials and hospital leadership in attendance. Joining me are MMP Sam Oosterhoff, Regional Councillor Rob Foster, Premier Doug Ford, and Regional Councillor Albert Witteveen.
The new facility brings several vital additions to the West Niagara community:
- State-of-the-Art Facility: The $224-million rebuild is roughly 80% larger than the hospital it replaced.
- Single-Patient Rooms: It is the very first new hospital in Ontario to feature exclusively single-patient rooms, prioritizing privacy and infection control.
- Enhanced Capacity: It includes 55 inpatient beds, six birthing suites, a modernized 24/7 emergency department, and surgical and diagnostic imaging suites (including CT scanning).
